America’ most listened to radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, coined the recent oil spill disaster as “Obama’s Katrina” on his show April 30th.

The oil spill is forecasting to surpass the Exxon Valdez disaster 20 years ago in Alaska. Although many government agencies are aiding in the relief of the spill, some have questioned the response time.

More than 3,000 European Jews sign a petition calling support of Israel’s government “dangerous” and opposed the nation’s settlement policies. Those signing the petition included French philosophers Bernard-Henri Levy and Alain Finkielkraut as well as a member of European Parliament, Daniel Cohn-Bendit. Supporters of the petition hope to present their position at a news conference in Brussels at the European Parliament on Monday, voicing support for the state of Israel and not its current leadership.

Across the nation members of the Tea Party movement rallied on April 15th in a show of their dissatisfaction of something. What the something is, or how grounded in reality it may be still remains to be seen. A casual glance through twitter with the popular tea party hashtag, #tlot, easily leaves one to believe that they are unifying to protest excessive taxes, their perception of a tyrannical government and the more general destruction of America.

In a down economy we have seen quite a number of government plans and new legislation with the purpose of solving our many financial woes. In Indiana, we’ve seen a dramatic $300 million cut in education funding and it is resonating all across the state. Teachers are being fired, schools are closing and cities are attempting to pass their own legislation to combat the problem. “I found out (along with many other teachers) that my position is being cut.” @AshleyHaydock.

The administration under President Obama is being scrutinized over one of the latest changes put into effect. Aid to Egypt is being reduced approximately up to 50 percent. The Associated Press reports the Obama administration is being accused of making theses decisions to ensure its support on Mideast policy, which includes the peace process with Israel.
