In 2009, T.I was sentenced to serve a year and a day in jail, this comes after officials discovered that he had given his body guard $12,000 to purchase illegal firearms. CNN reported that the rapper was not allowed to have firearms because of a 1998 felony convictions of drug possession.

This won’t be the first time we see rap artists go to jail and serve time, but do many learn lessons from the crime committed and the time served? In the last decade we have seen very popular rappers go to jail, Lil’Kim, Gucci Mane, Foxy Brown and Lil Wayne who was recently incarcerated for weapon possession.

Bombox which is an aggrerator site with rss feeds on hip-hop news and r&b news, also included T.I. on the list of 10 Rappers Jailed. The Larry King interview with the rapper gave many fans a surreal look into his life and some very emotional periods he faced.

Many fans tweeted about the rapper’s future as well commended him on how poised and intelligent he appeared as he interviewed with Larry King.

The re-screening of the interview was shown again on Saturday and fans who tuned in for various reasons may have ponder the thought, has jail changed T.I?

T.I. tells Larry King that his reason for having firearm was due to feelings of his life being in danger and also says he evolved from the situation.

It is apparent that jail has changed T.I. the aggreator site Sfgate quoted the rapper saying “I am not in any way trying to excuse my behavior because it’s unacceptable, and I do realize right now that that was very, very poor judgment on my behalf.”

In the interview T.I. admitted his time served in prison helped clear his mind of negative thoughts and he is no longer in fear of attempts on his life.

The new study replicated the 1940s’ milestone Doll Test conducted by psychologists Kenneth and Mamie Clark that was used to evaluate the impact of segregation on African-American children.

Spencer’s study involved questioning young children, who were asked to point their responses by selecting from a sequence of one to five cartoon pictures varying in skin color from light to dark, according to CNN.

The results revealed a “white bias”, where the white children favored whiteness in the cartoons with positive attributes. Black children shared a similar, yet lesser bias towards whiteness.

One thing is for sure, if you do not know who is Tiger Woods, it could be you have been sleeping under a rock in the last ten years.

With all the latest news and gossip about the sex-scandal, Tiger seems to be handling the pressure of the media hunt frenzy just fine. Since completing sex rehab, making a public apology to his family and fans, and having several brief interviews with the media and posting apology statements on his website, Tiger still seems to be advancing for the better.

What seems to be a freak-show of his life, apparently its get even more bizarre. Last week Nike released a never before seem interview with Earl Woods, father of Tiger Woods, which seems to be his father confronting him about his recent sex scandal.

The popular news entertainment station E!(@E!) posted a tweet on Friday afternoon “ABC News reporting the Earl Woods voice on Tiger’s new Nike commercial came from a 2004 interview he did speaking about his wife, not Tiger.”

Despite the release of the interview Tiger continued his week, after a five-month break where Tiger returned to the Master’s. (@E!) Kept tabs on Tiger as he continued on through the Master’s, tweeting on Friday “Tiger Woods Mastering His Comeback So Far http://bit.ly/a1VEhm.”

Sunday evening CNN (@cnnbrk) tweeted the result of the Master’s, “Tiger Woods finishes tied for 4th at Masters, Phil Mickelson wins. http://bit.ly/b9BJxt.”

Yet Tiger remains untamed even after not placing first place.

It was a landmark experiment for that organization, and it seems the most extensive such project, fueled by a team of eight. But live tweets during the hearings weren’t limited to the AP.

Michael Muskal of the Los Angeles Times, Maria Newman and Kate Phillips of the New York Times, and Peter Hamby of CNN all fired away tweets of their own, each with their own style.

Muskal tweeted from his @latimesmuskal account and he wrote me via e-mail about the experience.

“We are trying to explore a way to do what journalism has always done best — explanation, context, voice and personality — in a new forum, Twitter,” he wrote. ”The idea is bring those building blocks of good journalism over to an interactive platform and see if we can tell the Sotomayor story in a different and interesting way while maintaining the usual standards of truth and quality.”

Asked how his style of tweeting differed from the AP’s, he responded, “We too are giving the news, but I think we are trying to be more analytical as well.”

For example, he noted he flagged issues that didn’t come up, pointed out the politics, and showed the irony in Leahy making jokes while Franken had to stick to serious “to establish senator-type creds.”

A glance at the New York Times @thecaucus feed, updated by Newman and Phillips according to a tweet from the Times’ Social Media Editor Jennifer Preston, showed another style of tweeting.

It was almost entirely composed of quotes or paraphrases of what people were saying inside the courtroom. In a sense it told a story and allowed the reader to follow along as if they were there. It also directed people back to The Caucus blog and New York Times Web site to read more and continue the conversation.

Finally, CNN’s Twitter feed @hambypCNN was a hybrid of live tweets, analysis, and interaction with users. Hamby also posted TwitPics and shared commentary throughout the hearings.

So who was the most successful? All of the feeds were valuable in their own way. But as one way to measure (though far from perfect), here’s how many followers each account gained over the span of the coverage (July 13-17), per TwitterCounter:

@AP_Courtside +1,865
@thecaucus +375
@hambypCNN +228
@latimesmuskal +111

The account that showed the most growth was in fact the AP — the one that relied on the audience to predominantly direct coverage and interacted the most. It’s difficult to put a value on tweets, but that in itself is telling of this new age.
