The Cubs finally end their four-game losing streak as they slid by the Florida Marlins 4-3 at Wrigley Field Wednesday afternoon. Even with the victory the Cubs are barely clinging to fourth place in the National League Central Division as the St. Louis Cardinals continue to pull away from the pack.

Chicago Cubs’ rookie phenom, Starlin Castro committed three errors in Monday night’s game against the Florida Marlins in his Wrigley Field debut. Castro’s three errors on Monday comes just three days after he broke a major league record for most runs-batted-in by a player in his first MLB game.

The Cubs’ players added a little flare to their uniforms and equipment today in support of Mother’s Day dawning pink bats, batting gloves, wrist bands and ribbons. The color pink has become synonymous with breast cancer awareness and it has become a popular trend in professional sports, with the National Football League participating last year during the month of October.

The 2010 Chicago Cubs continue to be a mystery to all parties involved, the National League Central Division, their fans and the players themselves. With the six weeks of baseball in the books, the Cubs have endured more peaks and valleys than a celebrity marriage.

Another shooting in Chicago this time an Old Navy murder, a man kills girlfriend and himself in a downtown Old Navy in the city’s southloop. On Friday at 11:00am employees of the Old Navy ran out of the store and into to the streets alerting on duty patrol officers of shots being fired inside the store.
Tranesha Palms 22, was the victim who was shot and killed by boyfriend Eugene Robertson, 27.
The news created a frenzy in the downtown area of Chicago, some witness where very emotional and some initially did not take it serious, ABC-7 Chicago got the reactions of shoppers.
Gun violence in Chicago is out of control within the last two months there have been over 20 gun shootings in the city, this tragic event happened the day before “The Gun Buy Back” day event on Saturday.

Cubs’ top rookie prospect Starlin Castro broke a Major League record last night in Cincinnati by being the first player in history to record six RBIs during his first game in the majors. Castro went 2-5 with a three-run homer in his first at-bat as a Cub, followed by a three-run triple in his very next plate appearance. The shortstop Castro, was called up on Friday from Double-A Tennessee to give the Cubs a much needed boost offensively.

Slumping Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez has been benched for today’s game against Arizona, and Manager Lou Piniella says the move was nothing more than a routine day off.
Ramirez has been the Cubs’ clean-up batter for the last several years and has cemented his name in the line-up in the number four slot. However, Ramirez, batting a lukewarm (.155) has been moved into the number five position behind a red hot Marlon Byrd.

The Cubs tried to play home-run derby today with the Arizona Diamondbacks, sadly they lost both the game and the home-run contest.
The Diamondbacks handed the Cubs their worse loss since opening day, defeating the Cubs 13-5. Arizona scored most of their 13 runs on four home runs.

Chicago Breaking Sports reported that The Crosstown Classic series between the Cubs and White Sox will include a trophy commemorating each years winner of the annual showdown. The announcement is purported to take place this morning at a press conference.
