This past Thursday, Dr. Ian Smith medical expert from VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club did a phone interview on our show.

Meeting Dr. Ian Smith was a pleasure and was great exposure for myself because I want to be a health reporter and not to mention I knew our listeners could benefit from his expertise.

Listen as he gives Chicago listeners great advice about health, eating right and living a happy life.

Twitter was the first know to that Dr. Smith would be on the show and I was hoping that users would call in as I tweeted throughout the interview.

I learned that Dr. Ian Smith lives in Chicago and worked closely with State Farm Insurance to launch the 50 Million Pound Challenge. Dr. Smith shared achievable tips, strategies for dieting and insisted that loosing weight should not be a short term goal. Loosing weight should not be attempted to do so in a week or month but gradually done.

This past April Dr. Ian Smith released his seventh book entitled “Happy: Simple Steps to Get the Most Out of Life” which is on the New York Times Best Seller List.

Rima Fakih, 24 won the title as Miss USA on Sunday, making her the first Arab Miss USA. The news instantly broke on various news outlets and social media sites making this news the most popular of them all.

However before anyone could celebrate Fakih’s great achievement as we soon discovered she was a former stripper.  Sounds like there might be a trend with the beauty contestants of the Miss Universe Organization.

The new Miss USA is a former stripper should not be a surprise to anyone especially if we look at past title holders of the Miss Universe organization, the former Miss USA Tara Connor and former Miss LasVegas Katie Reese. E Channel broke the news on Monday as they tweeted on Twitter.

This past week Rapper T.I. did his first Interview on CNN’s Larry King Live since being released from jail in December 2009. Many of T.I’s fans tuned into see if jail changed T.I. and what he has in store for the future.

trapmuzik.com

In 2009, T.I was sentenced to serve a year and a day in jail, this comes after officials discovered that he had given his body guard $12,000 to purchase illegal firearms. CNN reported that the rapper was not allowed to have firearms because of a 1998 felony convictions of drug possession.

This won’t be the first time we see rap artists go to jail and serve time, but do many learn lessons from the crime committed and the time served? In the last decade we have seen very popular rappers go to jail, Lil’Kim, Gucci Mane, Foxy Brown and Lil Wayne who was recently incarcerated for weapon possession.

Bombox which is an aggrerator site with rss feeds on hip-hop news and r&b news, also included T.I. on the list of 10 Rappers Jailed. The Larry King interview with the rapper gave many fans a surreal look into his life and some very emotional periods he faced.

Many fans tweeted about the rapper’s future as well commended him on how poised and intelligent he appeared as he interviewed with Larry King.
