Grand Ole Opry Flooded by Cumberland River

The Grand Ole Opry flooded today as a result of the Cumberland River’s overflowing in Nashville.  Recent heavy rains and flash flooding in the region caused the Cumberland to spill into the city.  Much of the area is underwater and badly damaged.  There have been a reported 28 deaths due to flooding in Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee.  The original home of the Opry, the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, remains dry however, the Opry Mills mall and Opryland are both closed due to taking on water.

Updates have been coming regularly from the Grand Ole Opry Twitter feed (@opry), including information about concert cancellations and rescheduling:
